Here are some photos from pre-production (pre-pro is what we call the rehearsals when we’re getting ready to go in the studio).

Musician’s Corner June 4th
Have you been to Musician’s Corner yet? It’s a great weekly event in Centennial Park. I’m playing June 4th, with a lot of other great folks like Trent Dabbs, Angel Snow, Jeffrey James and a bunch of other talented local artists.
Here’s a photo of my producer, Paul Worley with MC director John Tumminello a few weeks ago…Doesn’t it look fun? So next week on JUNE 4TH bring a blanket, your dog and a few friends and come hear us play a set of BRAND NEW songs. We go on at 3pm Sharp!
bendito writer’s retreat
Got to spend a few great days just outside of town with these great songwriters: Kate York, Fred Wilhelm, Ben Glover, Kyle Jacobs, Megan James thanks to EMI-CMG who hosted a writer’s retreat at Brave Music Studios in this cool cabin outside Nashville. Here’s a little silent video taken by Jeremy Ash of Fred, Ben and I writing “Dare You Not To Love Her”. Here’s the demo. You like?

writing with Deana Carter
After a couple of awesome days writing with this stellar (!!) singer-songwriter, I had to go back and buy and buy some of her albums since ‘Did I Shave My Legs For This” which had the breakout single “Strawberry Wine” on it. Really great writing, and that one of a kind voice, what’s not to love. Start with the one shown here “I’m Just A Girl” or “The Chain” both of which Deana produced. Awesome.
AND, we wrote a really cool little song called “Railroad Tracks, Parallel Lives” can’t wait to play it for you!
On the road with Lee

During the last week of October, I got a few days of what every “emerging” singer-songwriter dreams about: time on the ever-coveted tour bus!! I’ll admit it, there’s something about climbing on that overly tinted, gas-guzzling, glorified motor home that makes an artist feel like they’ve “arrived.” Alas, this bus was not for me…I was just the happy interloper, along for the ride.
For an example of an artist tour bus, watch this video with Kellie Pickler:
Even more coveted than the comfy wheels was the chance to write with country artist/songwriter Lee Brice. This man can sing the pants off any tune, and write the fire out of a song idea. We had a great week, meeting with cool radio folks in Little Rock, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, and Omaha.
Check out Lee’s current single “Love Like Crazy” on here. To learn more about Lee’s crazy adventures you can follow him on twitter.
Jessica singing our co-write 11:11
OK, now this is girly, but ladies have you ever wished on 11:11?
Here’s a video of Jess singing our song at the rutledge.
writing with courntey
On Tuesday, I wrote with Courtney Dashe. She’s great & you should check out the tracks from her EP, here. Be sure you listen to “Paper Airplane”–a song she wrote about Alzheimers.
Kelleigh’s new site…
After the success of the “90 Gigs in 90 Days” blog we started rethinking the concept of a traditional website, and decided to move to a blog based site (ahem, thank you WordPress). You’ll still have a lot of the content from a “normal” site, but the front page will be BLOG. It will also make it really easy to put exclusive content up here…so you’ll always have new exciting things to look at, play with, listen to. What do you think?
